Hi, I’m Katelyn!

Me and Aspen pup.

Welcome to Tastes Just Like A Memory.

I am beyond grateful that you decided to stop by! On this page, I will share a little bit about myself and my little food blog. I hope you decide to stay and look around, and I would love to get to know you too.

First Things First – Food Is My Favorite

Let’s get right to it – I seriously LOVE to eat. When I was young, I once asked my dad, “Dad, do you know what my three favorite things are?” God knows what I would have said at 11 years old – probably basketball (playing and watching the Tar Heels), music, and hanging out with friends. He didn’t miss a beat. “breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” That is absolutely more accurate.

Who I am

Fast forward to who I am today. I am a lover of anything outside. A weekend spent in the woods is where I feel most like myself. I feel so much spiritual freedom in that space. Nature has always been my reset button. Of course, eating is WAY up on the list. I take entirely too many photos, never turn down a chance to see live music, and I still love Carolina basketball. Spontaneous decisions, coffee, cookbooks, and quality time with family keep me passionate about life. I’m so in love with my two boys – one on Earth and one in Heaven. My husband is truly my soulmate, best friend, and favorite person to explore with. Oh, and I get VERY excited about things. Think Kristen Wiig’s “surprise party” (If you haven’t seen that SNL skit, please look it up). Lastly, there is nobody that makes me laugh like Zach Galifianakis. It is so nice to meet you. ๐Ÿ™‚

This Blog

My goal for this blog is to spend more time doing this thing that I love and to share that experience with you. Cooking just makes me happy. Feeding a delicious meal to someone I care about is a feeling like no other. I will share recipes with you that I make at home for my friends and family. I also want to hear about your cooking experiences and to continue learning together. So, let’s make some tasty meals together and share some times worth remembering! I’m so excited to connect.
